Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ pre-orders to start on 2 March and here’s how much it might cost

Samsung is releasing its 2018 flagships much earlier this year as they have scheduled the launch of the Galaxy S9/S9+ at the end of next month. With less than a month away from their Barcelona Unpacked event, a report from South Korea has revealed more clues of its pre-order and pricing.

According to ETNews, Samsung will be accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy S9/S9+ in South Korea from 2-8 March 2018. In terms of pricing, South Koreans might need to brace for a price increase as the Galaxy S9 is expected to be priced at KRW950,000 (about RM3,444), while the larger S9+ could be priced at KRW990,000 (about RM3,589).

As a comparison, the Galaxy S8 in South Korea is priced at KRW935,000 (about RM3,565 during May 2017) but it’s officially priced at RM3,299 in Malaysia. Generally, Samsung sells their products higher at their own domestic market so it is safe to assume that it could be priced lower once it goes on sale in Malaysia.

If there’s a price hike, we reckon it shouldn’t be more than RM3,500 for its smaller Galaxy S9 but we won’t be surprised if there’s a bigger price gap with its bigger S9+ since it would have more RAM, more storage and it comes with a dual-camera setup. How much do you think the Galaxy S9/S9+ would be when it hits Malaysia? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
