Just in the nick of time, Xiaomi has started rolling out the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update to all Mi A1 users worldwide. The Mi A1 is Xiaomi’s first Android One device that offers a stock Android experience and faster software updates.

During the launch, Google promises that the Mi A1 will be upgraded to Android Oreo before the end of the year and it will be among the first phones to get Android P.

According to Xiaomi, the updates will be rolling out in batches and you’ll need to update your Mi A1 to the latest December (7.12.19) update first. The Oreo update also carries the latest Android security patch dated 1st December 2017.

You should be receiving a notification of an OTA software update on your device. If not, you can check manually by going into Settings > About Phone > System Updates and tap on Check for updates.

The Mi A1 was released in Malaysia at RM1,099 in September and now its official price tag is slashed to RM999.
