HTC U11 Plus Malaysia

UPDATE: HTC U11+ Malaysian launch is happening on 11 January.

It looks like another flagship smartphone might land in Malaysia before the year is out. The HTC U11+, which is the bigger brother of the U11 has just gotten the green light from SIRIM. If you’re looking for a Pixel 2 XL alternative, this could be it.

Upgrading over their current flagship, the U11+ comes with a larger 6″ display that’s stretched in an 18:9 display aspect ratio. It still uses Super LCD5 with a widescreen resolution of 2880×1440 pixels. Under the hood, it runs on a familiar setup with a Snapdragon 835 processor that comes with either 4GB RAM + 64GB storage or 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. You can still expand your storage further via microSD.

For taking pictures, it has a similar 12MP f/1.7 UltraPixel 3 main camera with OIS while the front gets an 8MP f/2.0 unit that has HDR boost. Like the U11, it also has Boom Sound stereo speakers that utilise the top earpiece and bottom firing unit. The headphone jack is missing and HTC is still packing a pair of USB-C based HTC USonic headphones that offer active noise cancellation.

Out of the box, it runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo and it also retains the same IP68 dust/water resistance. Fortunately, with the big screen, HTC is packing a much larger 3,930mAh battery. Of course, it also comes with Edge Sense, which allows you to launch apps or actions by simply squeezing the phone.

The HTC U11+ was certified under distributor Brightstar Malaysia and we are told that it’s coming in December. Hopefully, HTC Malaysia could introduce the U11+ before the upcoming 12.12 sale.

Thanks @KevinNgTK for the tip!
