The OPPO R9s series has gotten bigger with the arrival of its Plus version in Malaysia. As the biggest brother of the family, the OPPO R9s Plus is a 6.0″ phablet that comes with upgraded hardware and camera.

The exterior design is identical to the current OPPO R9s with its metal body construction and its ultra-fine “six-string” antenna band design. The 6.0″ screen is an IPS panel that pushes a full HD resolution and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It also gets OPPO’s lightning fast fingerprint sensor embedded on its home button.

The 6-incher is powered by a 1.95GHz Snapdragon 653 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to a whopping 6GB of RAM. There’s 64GB of onboard storage that you can expand further with microSD on its hybrid dual-SIM slot.

The main highlight of course, is its camera. With OPPO focusing primarily on its main camera, the R9s Plus gets a 16MP f/1.7 with dual PDAF technology (Sony IMX398) and it now gets OIS+ stabilisation. Meanwhile, the front gets a 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter with a host of beautification features.

With a bigger screen, the R9s Plus comes equipped with a larger 4,000mAh battery which charges quickly with VOOC Flash Charge through its microUSB port. The device currently runs on ColorOS 3.0 which is still based on Android 6.0.1.

The OPPO R9s Plus is officially priced at RM2,498 and is available starting today at all OPPO concept stores, OPPO online store and e-commerce partners such as Lazada, 11street, Shopee and Gemfive. For added peace of mind, OPPO Malaysia is bundling it with OPPO-Care screen warranty.
