Digi Postpaid 110 plan now with “Unlimited” data for the weekends

With competition heating up in the postpaid scene, Digi has revamped its postpaid offering with its first “unlimited” weekend data offering. Could this be Digi’s answer to webe‘s unlimited proposition?

On the surface, Digi Postpaid 110 gives you 25GB of weekday data, unlimited 4G weekend data and unlimited calls for RM110/month. Previously, the same plan offered 20GB of weekday + 20GB of 4G weekend data along with unlimited calls. In addition, you can also carry forward up to 3GB of unused data to the following month and it also comes bundled with 1,000 SMS.

Is the weekend 4G data truly unlimited? Well, Digi’s definition of “unlimited” is rather different. Their previous “unlimited” off-peak prepaid data was capped at 15GB while its new “non-stop” free video streaming is limited at 10GB/month. When we called up the Digi hotline, we are told that the Unlimited 4G weekend data on Digi Postpaid 110 has a Fair Usage Policy of 100GB/month. It’s still massive with a total of 125GB/month (less than RM1/GB) but it definitely isn’t unlimited as advertised. Take note that the weekend data is only applicable on 4G and it will utilise your weekday data if you’re connected to 3G and below.

Border Roaming now in 5 countries

For seamless roaming, Digi has also expanded its Border Roaming to 5 countries. Apart from Singapore (StarHub), it now includes Brunei (DST), Indonesia (Indosat), Myanmar (Telenor) and Thailand (DTAC/DTN). Digi’s Border Roaming costs RM30/month and it includes a monthly 5GB of data quota and 60 minutes of calls. If you’re a Digi Postpaid 110 subscriber, it is free of charge and it will cost you RM5/month if you’re on Digi Postpaid 80.
