The once dominant BlackBerry is no longer the same today. With devices like the DTEK50 and DTEK60, BlackBerry will be relying on partners to manufacture its newer models. Before it all comes to an end, BlackBerry is said to be releasing one more device which will come with a QWERTY keyboard.

The device pictured above is purported to be the upcoming QWERTY smartphone from BlackBerry and it will be last to be made in-house. It looks easier to hold than a squarish BlackBerry Passport and it gets a silver metal-looking frame.

In terms of specs, it is speculated to have a 4.5″ display with a 3:2 display aspect ratio. According to leaked benchmarks, it runs a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor mated with 3GB of RAM. Although it runs on Android, it will come with a host of BlackBerry apps that would make this one of the “most secure” Android devices.

The last BlackBerry with a QWERTY keyboard was the PRIV and that was priced at an insane RM3,559. Now it is selling for just RM1,499. There’s no info on when BlackBerry will launch this new smartphone but the biggest question is, would a physical keyboard make a difference in this day and age?
