The Xiaomi Mi 5 is coming to Malaysia but it faces a slight delay. Originally planned for this weekend’s release, Xiaomi has made an announcement that it will be available starting only from 25 June onwards.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the first day you may purchase a #Mi5 is 25th June. Kindly be notified that in Malaysia.

Unlike the usual tradition of selling their latest smartphones on the Mi Store, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be sold in stores through smartphone distributor Thorus. The Mi 5 is priced at RM1,549 and we are getting the base version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. For the price, it is still quite an affordable Snapdragon 820 flagship smartphone and it comes in a rather compact 5.15″ size.

In terms of design, the Mi 5 gets a premium metal and glass construction with a distinctive 3D curve glass back. The higher spec Mi 5 model gets a ceramic back plate with an etched holographic pattern.

For imaging, the Mi 5 gets a 16MP f/2.0 main camera which is assisted by a 4-axis OIS. Selfies, on the other hand, are handled by its “Ultrapixel”-like 4MP front camera. The Mi 5 also gets a fingerprint scanner embedded on the home button and powering the device is a 3,000mAh battery that charges quickly via USB Type-C. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out our previous post on the 7 things that you need to know about the Mi 5.

So take note, the Mi 5 is only going on sale beginning the following Saturday on 25 June 2016.
