The LG G4 Beat is a mid-range phone in a premium package

Not too long back we reported about the leaked specs for yet another LG G4 offshoot. Now it looks like the LG G4 Beat or the LG G4s is now official and is pretty much a lot like its big brother, but only on the outside.

The new device is going to be powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 mated to 1.5GB RAM as well as 8GB internal memory expandable via microSD. The smartphone is a little smaller as well, with a 5.2 inch Full HD display. Camera capabilities are a bit lower too, with a 8 megapixel rear snapper with laser auto focus and a 5 megapixel front snapper.

The American (no, not the US specifically) and Latin regions however will be getting a version with a 13 megapixel rear camera.

The G4 Beat/ G4s will support LTE, HSPA+ and will sport a 2,300mAh battery. Aside from that, it will have the typical G4 styling with ceramic design back cover but we don’t know if LG will make the other back cover options available as of yet.

It doesn’t look like we will be getting this variant anytime soon though, as LG is going to start sales of the phone this month starting in France, Germany and Brazil, followed by Canada, Russia, Turkey, India, South Africa and Singapore at a later date. No word yet on the price either but since they are keeping it mid-ranged, we expect it to be much, much cheaper than its flagship counterpart.
