Galaxy S6/S6 edge to get more camera features including RAW support with software update

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge currently have one of the best smartphone cameras in the market, but there is still room for improvement. With the software update that Samsung is working on, they are going to be even better.

The update will be part of the Android 5.1.1 update when the OS officially hits the two devices, and it will possibly add support for the full Google camera API which includes features like shutter speed and the ability to shoot in RAW format, which are features already on the HTC One M9 and the LG G4.

Also, the camera update will be part of devices that are codenamed Samsung Zen/Noble, where Noble is the codename for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 which is predicted to be launched in the second half of this year. Development for the Galaxy Note 5 is still in it’s early stages but the update will set the stage for better software features for the next flagship Note phone.
