If you’ve been waiting for the next big thing, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be officially launched in Malaysia on 2nd April 2015. Samsung Malaysia has sent out media invites and its official sales are expected to follow shortly after. Whether it falls on the 10th of April like its US counterparts is still unconfirmed but it is likely to be happening within the month of April. Another strong indication is that both Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge have already passed SIRIM certification in Malaysia.
So far telco Maxis has officially teased the upcoming Galaxy S6 flagship to come to its network and you can expect the rest such as Celcom, U Mobile and Digi to offer it on contract as well.
UPDATE: Maxis will start online orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 on 3rd April. Read about it here.
To recap on the specs, both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will feature a 5.1″ Quad HD Super AMOLED display which are powered by their 14nm Exynos Octa-Core 7420 processor with 3GB of RAM. Storage wise it will be available with at least 32GB of storage which this time isn’t expandable with microSD. The main 16MP and front facing 5MP cameras get a faster f/1.9 lens as well as auto real time HDR mode. Keeping the lights on is a 2,550mAh battery for the S6 and 2,600mAh capacity for the S6 edge which isn’t removable. For the first time, both Galaxy S6 models will get built-in wireless charging support.
