The Find 7 is still the flag bearer for OPPO with a Quad HD display and similar hardware internals with its OnePlus One cousin. After a year since its release, OPPO is still committed of pushing software updates and they have just released its new ColorOS 2.0.7i version.

As usual, it fixes a couple of bugs reported with its previous version and there are couple of performance tweaks as well. Since it is Beta, you would need to flash this manually on your Find 7/7a. If you are currently on its 2.0.6i BETA, the new version will be pushed Over the Air (OTA). Probably the biggest bummer is that it’s still running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Word has it that OPPO might bypass version 4.4.4 and jump straight to Lollipop, but there’s still no confirmation of its actual roll out date.

The Chinese brands have been coming out strong especially in 2014 but if they intend to capture more customers from a loyalty standpoint, they would need to be more committed to regular software updates. Most mainstream brands have already rolled out or in the process of updating its last year flagships to Android 5.0 Lollipop. This is something which the Chinese brands can overcome but only if they make it as a priority.
