huawei Watch

After accidentally teasing it on an airport ad and showing it off through some videos, we finally have the scoop on Huawei’s first ever Android Wear device and frankly, they look fantastic.

Huawei is definitely going for the premium look for both their wearables, including the Talkband B2 also launched today. The watch has a circular display and looks very similar to a classical luxury timepiece and sports a sapphire crystal screen as well as a stainless steel housing that’s apparently cold forged and 40% stronger than it’s non-cold forged counterparts. Users will have the choice between a metal or leather strap and the watch will be available in gold, silver and black.

The watch itself has a compact 42mm face and a standard 18mm lug width and will come with the usual bells and whistles that most smartwatches are associated with, including a heart rate monitor and fitness tracking as well as a 6-axis motion sensor and barometric sensor. It’s display will be a 1.4 inch AMOLED screen with a 400×400 screen resolution with 286 ppi and a 10:000:1 high contrast ratio. The watch face is also fully customizable, and as luck would have it, Huawei will be providing over 40 different watch faces with the Watch.

The Watch will be available sometime “in the middle of this year” in 20 countries which unfortunately doesn’t include Malaysia but Singapore will be getting it so it could be just a matter of time before it hits our market as well.

We are in Barcelona for MWC 2015 so stay tuned for more information as it comes.
