Acer Liquid X1 and Liquid Jade to be launched in Malaysia

UPDATE: The Acer Smart Phone event has been postponed to 18th November.

Acer will be launching several new smart phones in Malaysia next Tuesday, 4th November on 18th November. From its invitation, we get a glimpse of its new Liquid X1 and Liquid Jade smart phones which were announced several months back.

Just to refresh your memory, the Liquid X1 is quite a well kit device for its price. It features a large 5.7″ IPS display that does HD 720p resolution and it is powered by MediaTek’s 1.7GHz Octa-Core processor with 2GB of RAM that’s similar with the Redmi Note. On-board it gets generous 16GB of on-board storage which can be expanded via microSD slot. The back has a 13MP f/1.8 camera and packs a 2,700mAh battery.

For those who need faster connectivity would be pleased to know that the Liquid X1 supports 4G LTE with speeds up to 150Mbps. In Taiwan, it was launched at TWD$7,990 which is quite well priced below RM900. The design of the Liquid X1 is quite upmarket too with a dimpled look for the back cover that’s similar with the Galaxy S5.

The next device is the Liquid Jade which gets a 5″ IPS HD 720p display but it gets a notch below 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6582 processor that’s mated to 1GB of RAM. It also gets a 13MP f/1.8 camera like the Liquid X1 and with a 2,100mAh capacity battery, it boast a thickness of just 7.5mm.

The third device appears to be their Liquid Z500, which is their affordable smart phone offering with a 5″ HD 720p display, 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, 8MP + 2MP cameras and a slightly smaller 2,000mAh capacity battery. The third device shown at the top right is still a mystery and we are guessing it could be a Liquid E600 or E700. The E700 is a triple-SIM smart phone that’s perfect for those who find dual-SIM slots insufficient for the communication needs. Since Acer is launching the Liquid Jade, we might probably have a glimpse of their first wearable – the Liquid Leap, which is bundled in selected countries.
