The phone that TMZ thought was the new iPhone, is a Chinese knock-off

Entertainment tabloid site TMZ has been buzzing with its latest scoop on the new iPhone 6. As people got excited or disappointed with what the next iPhone would look like, the so called exclusive pictures are nothing but a cheap knock off of the purported iPhone 6.

The folks at 9to5Mac had rebutted its claims by pointing out several UI flaws which turn out to be a re-skinned version of Android. The new iPhone would be running on the latest iOS 8 but the interface is rocking on an older iOS 7 apperance. Another giveaway is the overly thick font used for the calendar and the use of Back button on the overlay interface. The exterior design is still heavily based on what has been speculated on the internet for several months now.

While the good news is that this isn’t the real device, will the real iPhone be drastically different from what we’ve seen so far? Thankfully we won’t have to wait too long as Apple is said to be announcing the next iPhone this coming 9th September.
