Apart from smart phones and tablets, Xiaomi also makes high-end TVs at insane prices. Local retailer DirectD has just brought in the latest Mi TV2 and they are testing it out for local compatibility.

Before you rush over, it isn’t on sale yet and they have yet to indicate any pricing for it at the moment. The Mi TV2 is an internet connected device and it will certainly undercut other Smart TVs in the market which would certainly cost a lot more for the similar offering. In China, it retails for 3,999 Yuan which is slightly above RM2,000. What you’ll get is an ultra-thin 49″ TV that does 4K resolution and it comes bundled with a Bluetooth remote, wireless sub woofer and a 8-speaker sound bar. Once DirectD puts the Mi TV2 on sale, expect an extra premium on the price like its current Mi Pad offering.

Xiaomi has plans to bring the Mi TV 2 officially into Malaysia but they would need to secure a local content partner to unlock its full content box potential.
