Oppo N1 mini coming to Malaysia next week

After its reveal in China, the compact Oppo N1 mini is finally coming to Malaysia. It is expected to be priced at RM1,398 and shall be available for purchase sometime next week.

The N1 mini is the smaller sibling of the original Oppo N1 and it retains the same look and feel as its bigger brother. The main difference is the screen where the N1 mini sports a 5″ HD 720p display. If you find the Oppo N1 too big for single handed use, the N1 mini is a much more comfortable option and we liked how it has the same soft touch matte finishing for its back.

Powering the device is a Quad-Core 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 2GB of RAM and it also comes with 16GB of on-board storage. Like its bigger brother, there’s no expandable microSD storage but you’ll be happy to know that the N1 mini supports 4G LTE for faster downloads. While the main camera is a similar rotatable 13MP unit with a single LED flash, Oppo has made some changes to the software side of things. It also comes with Ultra-HD mode that’s found on the Oppo Find 7 where it is capable of producing high resolution 24MP 50MP photos.

At time of writing, the N1 mini is running on a newer ColorOS 1.4 which is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. As you would expect with a compact size, the non-removable battery has been scaled down to 2,140mAh capacity.

Check out our hands-on photos of the Oppo N1 mini and some comparison shots after the break.
