Annoyed with Sony Xperia Z2’s micro-USB Flap cover? Here’s an easier way to charge

Sony makes the best waterproof smart phones but charging them can be a chore with its flap covers for its ports. On the original Xperia Z and Xperia Z1, it wasn’t that bad as it is a small piece covering just the micro-USB port. However on the new Xperia Z2, the flap cover is now longer to cover an additional microSIM slot and it makes you worry about its durability in the long run.

Of course, you can avoid this by buying the magnetic charging dock which is quite expensive. However you would still face the same annoyance when charging the device with your battery pack or while travelling. To solve such issues, there’s a neat little adapter from DEFF (Design Evolution For the Future) which turns your standard micro-USB cable into a magnetic charging adapter. In Japan, it costs 1,380 Yen which is about RM43 but unfortunately they don’t ship internationally.

If you’re looking for cheaper alternative, there are similar products sold on DealExtreme for less than US$5.00. You can check them out here and they will ship it for free to Malaysia.
