Sony has made its name with its water and dust resistant smart phones. To enjoy music almost about anywhere, they have also released its very own waterproof Walkman with integrated headphones which will work well for professional swimmers.
So to sell its Walkman along with its water resistant capabilities, Sony and their ad agency has put their product to the test by selling their Walkmans submerged inside a water bottle. Packaged like a bottle of drinking water, the Walkman is sold at strategic vending machines in gyms and various public places.
In terms of water resistance, the Sony NWZ-W273 is rated at IPX8 which can withstand being submerged under 2 meters of water. That’s a notch higher than the typical IP58 rating for water and dust resistant Xperia Smart Phones.
We must say, this is a pretty good way of showcasing a water resistant product. Watch the promo video after the break.
