After a long wait, Google has officially brought Maps Navigation to Malaysia. This gives Malaysian drivers turn-by-turn instruction with voice guidance on their GPS & Internet connected Android device.
When routing to a destination, Google Maps Navigation will also estimate travel time based on traffic info that’s available at major cities. Overall, this is a big leap forward from the standard Google Maps direction. To enable this, either hit on the Navigation app or enable Navigation when you search for directions in Google Maps.
Previously Android users had to resort to unofficial Google Maps mods which forces Navigation to run. However it was riddled with bugs and often it gives delayed voice instructions, making it quite useless for driving.
Next on the wishlist is Streetview, which offers a better picture of landmarks and its surrounding in Google Maps.
Head after the break for the official demo video of Google Maps Navigation.
