If you don’t want to be tied with long contracts and paying ridiculous upfront payments, DiGi has an affordable Zero Contract option for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
The Galaxy S4 can be yours for only RM1,773 while the HTC One at RM1,843 on DG Smart Plan 58 with Zero Contract option. In case you are wondering, the Galaxy S4 being offered is the GT-i9500 Non-LTE version which runs on Exynos Octa-Core processor.
The device price that’s being quoted here comes with some strings attached. During sign up, you would need to pay 2 months subscription upfront of RM116 plus additional 1 month as advance subscription. This means you’ll need to fork out RM1,947 for the Galaxy S4 or RM2,017 for the HTC One during sign up. After that, your first 3 months subscription is basically being paid for provided you don’t exceed the Smart Plan 58‘s bundled 200 SMS and 200 minutes of calls within DiGi network. Also bundled with the plan is 2GB of internet usage which is split 1GB for Facebook/Twitter/WhatsApp and another 1GB for everything else.
If you decide not to stay with them for long, there’s no termination fee but you’ll lose out on the 2 months extra subscription which is rebated back to your account. Overall this seems to be a 3 months contract price but with an option to terminate without penalty. Nevertheless, it is still a good option if you do plan to use DiGi without being tied to a contract.
