Most Android players are moving into the practical 7″ tablet size and Acer is now said to be working on a model that will go head on with the likes of ASUS MemoPad and Nexus 7.
Comparing the specs, it does look like a direct competitor against the iPad mini with a 7.9″ 1024×768 display and is powered with a 1.2GHz MediaTek Quad-Core processor that’s mated with 1GB of RAM. There’s a front facing VGA camera and a rear 5MP main shooter. Storage is generous with 16GB on-board storage which is expandable with microSD. Overall it is 10.5mm thick with its 3,250mAh capacity battery.
What’s more interesting is the purported price of US$149 which makes this under RM500. If the price and specs are true, this is a big leap from its current Acer Iconia B1 and will definitely give other 7″ tablets a run for their money.
