The picture above was taken using the Meizu MX. By its own right, the China-made Meizu MX takes stunning pictures but it’s when you compare it with the iPhone 4S, you see how amazing the phone is considering how much it costs.

The Meizu MX retails for HK$3,099, which at today’s exchange rate is about RM1,265. That’s ridiculously cheap when you look at the spec sheet. For less that RM1,300 you get an Android 2.3 smartphone with a 1.4Ghz dual-core Exynos processor with 1GB of RAM, a 4-inch 960×640 pixel LCD and an 8MP camera with a backlit sensor (similar technology used in the iPhone 4S and the Sony Xperia ray, arc, and arc S).

From the sample pictures, we’re really impressed with the camera performance of this Meizu MX and when you consider the asking price and from what we’ve read about this little known Android smartphone , we’re seriously wondering why the MX has not yet arrived here, surely there is great potential for the Meizu MX here.

Head on over to after the jump for a few more side-by-side sample picture comparison between the Meizu MX and the iPhone 4S.
