Cloud storage is the future as we are seeing less smart phones with microSD card slots and photos are more practically shared online. Connectivity is vital especially when you need to upload or view photos immediately while you’re on the move.

Now Digi wants to free up more space on your smart phone, and to encourage cloud photo storage, they have introduced its new Capture service. Not only it works as a photo backup, Digi is also offering Zero internet charges for its subscribers. So now you won’t have to worry about using up your precious internet quota as you snap away.

The Capture app and service is provided by Telenor, the parent company of Digi and it is available for both Android and iOS platforms. As a Digi subscriber, you get 30GB of Capture space for free by sending an SMS “CAPTURE” to 20000. Non-Digi users can use it too but you’ll only get 2GB of free space.

Once installed, you can choose to set it to backup every photo that’s on your device and you can also select it to upload only on Wifi connection. If you’re a Digi subscriber, you can enable backups over cellular data since there’s no data charges incurred for this offer.

If you need more storage, Capture charges RM19/month for 25GB and RM29/month for 100GB. It is quite pricey considering Google Drive charges just US$1.99/month for 100GB and Google Photos will be offering free unlimited photo and video backups. The free 30GB Capture storage will expire on 30th April 2017.

For more info, you can head over to Digi or Capture’s official website.
