Last year we had OPPO’s ridiculously thin OPPO R5 smartphone who reigned supreme as the thinnest around, before it was dethroned by the China branded Vivo X5 Max which managed to shave it down to an even thinner 4.8mm thick. Then came the Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini.
Barely a breath into 2015, Coolpad released a teaser for what could be the world’s thinnest smartphone to date; which was just revealed to be the Cooplad Ivvi K1 Mini which measures in at 4.7mm, just a hair thinner than the X5 Max.
However, unlike the other two devices the Ivvi K1 Mini will be a mid-ranged smartphone as opposed to being more of a premium model like the OPPO R5 and the Vivo X5Max. Despite that, the specs still look pretty decent.
In terms of the hardware, the Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini will come with a Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor mated to 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. The phone will also have a 4.7-inch display, 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper. Coolpad says that the smartphone will also have camera centric features, 4G LTE capabilities and a 1800mAh battery, which is unsurprising given how slim it is.
The Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini will be priced at 1299 Yuan (approximately RM 740) and will only be available in white for now, with the company hinting that there will be more colours available in the coming weeks.
