Huawei will be launching its Honor 6 smart phone this coming weekend which is taunted to be their latest flagship before its Ascend Mate 7 arrives. The Honor series has been popularly known for its affordable smart phones especially the Honor 3C. For the Honor 6, this is quite a high-end device and it is actually better than the current Ascend P7 smart phone spec-wise.
It gets a 5″ Full HD (1920×1080) screen from JDI and underneath it runs on their home grown 1.7GHz Octa-Core Hi-Silicon Kirin 920 processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM. On-board it has 16GB storage with a microSD slot supporting up to 64GB cards. Powering the device is a generous 3,100mAh capacity battery.
For imaging it uses Sony’s 13MP IMX214 sensor (same unit found on the OnePlus One & Oppo Find 7) that claims to be able to shoot from sleep in just 0.6 seconds. It also features hardware based HDR, all focus mode (similar to selective focus) and is assisted by dual LED flash. Meanwhile the front gets a wide angle 88 degree 5MP camera and to include a larger group for your selfies, they have also included a Panorama Selfie mode.
Apart from having top rated specs, the Honor 6 also boast high speed connectivity with Cat 6 4G LTE support up to 300Mbps. Overall it is 7.5mm thick and weighs just 130 grams. Out of the box, the Honor 6 is running on Android 4.4.2 with EMUI 2.3. In China, the Honor 6 is priced at 1,999 Yuan (about RM1,032) for the 16GB version and we reckon this would be priced competitively in Malaysia. At the same time, Huawei is giving a chance to win one of 6 units of Honor 6 and you can take part in their Facebook contest page.
