BYD Malaysia has announced that the Denza Z9 GT electric sports car is now available in Fjord Green. The new paint option join the two existing colours, swhich include Rime Gold and Obsidian Black.
The new Fjord Green exterior can be paired with a Perg Beige interior, an all-Black interior with suede seats and yellow stitching, or a Red Velvet interior. Price-wise, the Denza Z9 GT continues to be available with a starting price of RM358,800.
Launched in Malaysia back in July, the Z9 GT is the 3rd Denza model in our market after the D9 electric MPV and B8 PHEV. More than 100 units of the Z9 GT have been delivered to customers in Malaysia so far, according to BYD Malaysia.
Denza Z9 GT Malaysia Quick Specs

Positioned as Denza Malaysia’s flagship EV, the Z9 GT comes with a sleek shooting brake body style. In our market, it is available exclusively with the e³ Platform, which features a triple-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain.
The front axle uses a 230kW (308hp) motor producing 410Nm, while there are also two independently controlled rear motors that deliver a combined 620kW (831hp) and 800Nm. Together, the Z9 GT has a maximum power output of 850kW (1,140hp) alongside 1,210Nm of torque.

The setup allows the Z9 GT to hit 0-100km/h in just 2.7 seconds. At the same time, the sports EV also has an electronically limited top speed of 240km/h.
The Z9 GT for the Malaysian market also carries BYD’s LFP-based 2nd generation Blade Battery. With a capacity of 122.49kWh, the new battery is said to deliver 5% higher energy density than the first-generation Blade Battery while supporting BYD’s 1,000V electrical architecture.

This means the Z9 GT for our market supports the new BYD Flash Charge tech, which allows the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes, or from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes under compatible charging conditions. On a full charge, the Malaysian-spec Z9 GT can deliver 600km of WLTP-rated driving range or 701km under the NEDC standard.
BYD Malaysia has begun deploying Flash Charger at selected Denza showroom including Balakong, Glenmarie, and KL North. In fact, a video has appeared online showing the Flash Charger in action at BYD Balakong with a Denza Z9 GT.
Meanwhile, BYD Malaysia and Petronas subsidiary, Gentari have also signed a deal to explore the deployment of Flash Charger in Malaysia. The collaboration aims to expand ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure beyond showrooms, including Petronas stations and along major intercity routes connecting key population centres.

Beyond outright performance, the Z9 GT also features an active rear-wheel steering system with independent control. The feature allows the rear wheels to steer by up to 15 degrees. This reduces the turning circle to just 4.62 metres, making this 5,180mm long EV (with a 3,125mm wheelbase) significantly easier to manoeuvre.
The Z9 GT also comes with several distinctive driving functions, including Crab Mode, where all four wheels steer in the same direction for diagonal movement. There’s also a “Pencil Compass Turn”, which allows the car to pivot into a tight parking space by independently rotating the rear wheels while the front wheels remain locked.

Ride comfort is handled by BYD’s DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension with continuously variable damping, and while the EV’s standard ride height is 120mm, it can be adjusted from 100mm to 145mm. During launch, BYD Malaysia said that Malaysian units received European suspension and damping tuning.
