Looks like iQoo fans in Malaysia are in for a treat. iQoo confirms that the latest iQoo 16 will arrive in Malaysia this November 2026.

As expected, it packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series SoC, and it is also the first to feature the 2K 165Hz Samsung Everest Display.

Design-wise, this phone is a looker. It features an industrial-looking design with a matte-finished aluminium frame along with an interesting camera bump design.

iQoo 16 Malaysia specs and features

The iQoo 16 features a 6.85-inch 19.8:9 display pushing 3168×1440 pixels resolution which offers 165Hz refresh rate and up to 2,800 nits of peak brightness.

Interestingly, this model is the industry’s first panel to combine 2K (1440p) sharp resolution with a 165Hz high refresh rate using Samsung’s flagship OLED emissive materials.

That means, you will be able to enjoy desktop-grade smoothness without sacrificing pixel density or crisp text rendering. For context, the 165Hz panels previously existed on lower-resolution (1080p or 1.5K) gaming phones. So, that is quite a massive upgrade.

Under the hood, the iQoo 16 runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 with up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra Pro memory and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.

To recap, the phone houses a triple camera setup with a 50MP main 1/1.3-inch type sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus using a 1/2.75″ type sensor, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS, using a 1/1.95″ type sensor.

Meanwhile, the selfie cam sports a fixed-focus 32 MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture, 21mm equivalent ultra-wide focal length, 1/3.1″ sensor size, 0.7 µm pixel size, HDR support, and video recording capabilities up to 4K at 60 fps.

Durability-wise, the phone is rated IP68, and IP69 for dust and water resistance. It also offers an 8,400 mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 40W wireless charging.

On top of that, it runs Android 17 and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Other sensors include the accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.

If you are interested, the iQoo 16 is available in 3 colours – “Chasing Light”, “Racetrack”, and “Legend”. This model comes in 4 configurations: 12GB RAM +256GB storage, 12GB RAM +512GB storage, 16GB RAM+512GB storage and 16GB RAM+1TB storage. Unfortunately, there are no details on the pricing yet.

Will this be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 phone in Malaysia?

Currently, the iQoo 16 with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is planned for Malaysia release this November.

Xiaomi has also confirmed that its Xiaomi 18 Pro series powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 including the Extreme edition would be coming to Malaysia by the end of this year.

So, it will be interesting to see which brand will win the race for the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 phone in Malaysia.
