Looking for a sub-5 second three-row SUV? Tesla Malaysia is now offering a complimentary Acceleration Boost upgrade for the Model Y L, making its six-seater electric SUV noticeably quicker off the line.

With the upgrade, the Model Y L now accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds, which is 0.5 seconds quicker than its previous 5.0-second time.

However, it still retains the same top speed of 201km/h while its listed WLTP-rated range remains unchanged of up to 681km. Take note that the upgrade is applicable for new orders.

Tesla Model Y L starts from RM263,000

The Tesla Model Y L is currently priced from RM263,000 in Malaysia following its recent price update in July.

According to Tesla Malaysia, monthly instalments for the Model Y L start from RM1,988. This calculation is based on a 1.78% fixed interest rate, 30% downpayment and a 108-month loan tenure.

Stealth Grey is included at no extra cost but you can customise your EV at an extra cost.

Customers can customise the exterior with the following optional colours:

  • Pearl White Multi-Coat – RM5,000
  • Diamond Black – RM5,000
  • Glacier Blue – RM7,500
  • Ultra Red – RM11,000
  • Cosmic Silver – RM11,000

You can also switch the interior from All Black to Zen Grey for an additional RM5,000.

Customers can also upgrade from Basic Autopilot to Enhanced Autopilot for RM16,000. This would unlock more features including Autopark, Dumb Summon, Auto Lane Change and Navigate on Autopilot.

With all options maxed out, the Model Y L would cost RM295,000.

Tesla expands Supercharger network in Malaysia

Tesla currently operates 21 Supercharger sites with a total of 92 Superchargers in Malaysia. It also has 18 Destination Charging sites with 78 Wall Connectors.

As highlighted during the opening of their Mid Valley Megamall experience centre recently, Tesla says another six charging sites are scheduled to come online by the end of 2026, covering Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak, Seremban and Penang.

With a Tesla Supercharger, Tesla owners can enjoy seamless DC charging experience without an app as the charging session starts automatically the moment they plug in.

According to the company, more than 13,000 households in Malaysia have also been enabled for home charging.

Tesla says its charging network supports cross-country travel from Singapore through Malaysia to Thailand. It also provides cross-border warranty coverage, service access and connectivity for Tesla owners travelling within the region.

Limited-time incentives for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y

Tesla Malaysia is also offering limited-time financing and trade-in incentives for its existing models.

For the Model 3, buyers can choose between a fixed interest rate from 0.58% or a trade-in rebate of up to RM10,000.

The Model Y is offered with a fixed interest rate from 0.88% or a RM15,000 trade-in rebate.

Tesla’s Refer and Earn programme is also available for the Model 3, Model Y and Model Y L. A referred buyer receives RM1,000 off a new Tesla, while the referrer receives RM500 in Tesla Credits.

The credits earned can be redeemed for benefits including Supercharging and software upgrades.

Tesla currently has experience locations at Mid Valley Megamall, Cyberjaya, Pavilion Damansara Heights and Setia City Mall in the Klang Valley. It also has locations at Gurney Plaza in Penang, The Mall Mid Valley Southkey in Johor and The Spring Kuching in Sarawak.
