TNB Electron is activating its new DC charger at R&R Rawang Northbound, which bodes well for EV drivers heading northbound—especially those starting their journey from the Greater Kuala Lumpur area. If this feels like news you should have read a long time ago, you’re not wrong.
A Long-Awaited Addition to the Network
This location was first announced by TNB back in early 2023. However, photos published on PlugShare show that construction on the EV charging station only began late last year, eventually culminating in today’s official opening.
The TNB Electron R&R Rawang Northbound hub features two charging bays served by a single Autel DC charger. The CPO has configured the unit to deliver up to 240kW, while payments can be made on-site via the integrated JuiceUp card payment terminal.
Free Operational Testing Period
As with previous rollouts, EV owners can drop by TNB Electron R&R Rawang Northbound on its opening day to charge their vehicles for free. TNB has designated the FOC Operational Testing period to run from 12:00 PM on 28 September until 11:59 PM on 29 September.
Once the testing window closes, the standard charging rate of RM1.50 per kWh will take effect.
