iCaur Malaysia has expanded its locally assembled (CKD) iCaur 03 lineup with the inclusion of the rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant, following the launch of the iCaur 03 iWD CKD back in May.
The iCaur 03 CKD is the first iCaur EV to be assembled in Malaysia, as well as the second EV under Chery Group to be locally assembled after the Chery Omoda E5. The iCaur 03 is put together at the Chery Corporate Malaysia plant in Shah Alam, whereas the Omoda E5’s CKD operations take place at the Inokom facility in Kulim, Kedah.
Aside from the 03, its stablemate—the iCaur V23—has since been assembled in Malaysia as well
iCaur 03 RWD CKD Pricing and Warranty
Available in Black or White, the iCaur 03 RWD CKD is priced at RM119,740—virtually identical to the CBU counterpart launched last September for RM119,800. This comes as no surprise, as iCaur Malaysia previously indicated that CKD pricing would align closely with CBU rates.
Buyers can also opt for the Phantom Edition for an additional RM20,000, which adds an all-black colourway, aggressive body panels, a sidebox, and a side ladder.
All iCaur 03 CKD variants come with a 7-year / 150,000 km vehicle warranty, along with a separate 10-year / 200,000 km warranty covering the high-voltage battery, drive unit, and associated components. iCaur Malaysia will also perform a 1-to-1 replacement if the battery’s State of Health (SoH) drops below 60% during the warranty period.
iCaur 03 RWD CKD Quick Specs
Physically, the iCaur 03 measures 4.4m long, 1.9m wide, and 1.7m tall, riding on a 2.7m wheelbase. Boot space stands at 450L and expands to 1,238L with the rear seats folded down, complemented by a 40L storage compartment mounted on the tailgate.
Powering the iCaur 03 RWD CKD is a rear-mounted electric motor delivering 135 kW and 220 Nm of torque. This setup allows the boxy electric SUV to complete the 0–100 km/h sprint in 10.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 150 km/h.
Energy is stored in a 65.7 kWh LFP battery pack that yields an NEDC-rated range of 426 km, or an estimated 362 km under the WLTP test cycle. Charging the vehicle is handled via DC fast charging up to 80 kW, alongside an onboard 6.6 kW single-phase AC charging module.
Additionally, owners can power external electrical appliances on the go using the EV’s 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function.
Inside, the cabin features a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment display complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Rounding out the equipment list is an 8-speaker audio system, a 50W ventilated wireless charger, 6 airbags, and a suite of Level 2 ADAS safety features.
