Almost two months after confirming that the company was working to obtain the certification, GSC Malaysia has published the list of locations certified under the Infinity Vision banner.
We previously predicted that GSC BIG halls would likely qualify for the certification—which turned out to be spot-on. However, the finalised list is much longer than expected.
What is Infinity Vision?
Let’s start with a key distinction: Infinity Vision is NOT a standalone film format or hardware technology like IMAX. Instead, Infinity Vision is a certification program for premium large format (PLF) cinemas created by Walt Disney Studios, the parent company of Marvel Studios.
In other words, you can think of the Infinity Vision as a badge that acknowledges that the cinema hall has met the standard set by Disney under the Infinity Vision certification program. Interestingly enough, the requirements are not a secret since they are actually listed on the Infinity Vision website:
- Screen: Minimum 45 feet (~13.7 meters) wide
- Sound: Either immersive sound (e.g Dolby Atmos) or 7.1 sound
- Projection: Brightness levels reaching either 14 foot-lamberts in 2D and/or 6 foot-lamberts in 3D
Regarding the slate of movies tied to the certification program, Disney confirmed that the first Infinity Vision release will be Avengers: Endgame Encore in September, followed by Avengers: Doomsday in December.

Looking at the list, GSC 1 Utama offers the greatest variety of Infinity Vision-certified experiences, housing BIG with Dolby Atmos, 4DX, ScreenX, Play Park, and a dedicated Dolby Surround 7.1 hall.
According to GSC, Avengers: Endgame Encore will screen in its Infinity Vision-certified halls starting 24 September 2026. Avengers: Doomsday will premiere in Malaysia on 17 December 2026.
