Samsung Malaysia has announced a price revision which affects the pricing of its budget smartphones.
If you’re thinking of getting the Galaxy A07 or the A17, be prepared to fork out up to RM200 more with the latest price hike.
Due to the current memory shortage and surge in RAM prices, it has become more challenging for smartphone makers to offer budget smartphones in the current climate.
Galaxy A07 and A17 get price hikes up to RM200

Effective today, Samsung Malaysia will be increasing the prices for the following Galaxy A models in Malaysia:
- Galaxy A07 LTE (8GB+256GB) – RM1,049 (Previously: RM899) +RM150
- Galaxy A07 5G (8GB+256GB) – RM1,149 (Previously: RM1,029) +RM120
- Galaxy A17 LTE (8GB+256GB) – RM1,149 (Previously: RM949) +RM200
- Galaxy A17 5G (8GB+256GB) – RM1,299 (Previously: RM1,149) +RM200
According to Samsung, the adjustment reflects ongoing increases in global component costs, particularly for memory chips and RAM driven by rising demand from AI infrastructure and data centre expansion, despite the company’s efforts to absorb such pressures.
It added that the brand remains committed to delivering innovative performance, durability and long-term value through the Galaxy A series.
