Google Pixel Buds 2a is now officially available in Malaysia. Made its debut during the Pixel 10 Series global launch in August, the audio buds are the latest Google Pixel product to be released in our market alongside the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Available in Iris and Hazel colourways, the Pixel Buds 2a are priced at RM649 in Malaysia. The new audio buds can be obtained at these retailers:

Google Pixel Buds 2a quick specs
Generally, the Pixel Buds 2a retail price is approximately 40% lower than that of the Pixel Buds Pro 2. However, it doesn’t mean that they are barebone audio products, though.
Equipped with custom-designed 11mm dynamic drivers together with Tensor A1 processor, the Pixel Buds 2a features Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) capability, which is a first for an A-series Pixel Buds release, according to Google. Users can switch to the Transparency mode if they want to hear the world around them.
Fitted with two microphones on each earbud, wind-blocking mesh covers and Google AI work hand-in-hand to help tone done background noises to ensure crystal clear calls. Pixel Buds 2a also supports Gemini, which means users can utilise the AI companion to perform certain tasks without taking out their phones.
To help users achieve a perfect fit, the Pixel Buds Pro 2a comes with a twist-to-adjust stabiliser together with four selections of ear tips. The IPX54-rated earbuds also have capacitive touch sensors that allow users to control music playback, calls, and voice assistant, while an IR proximity sensor makes it possible for them to play and pause automatically when you put on or remove the buds from your ears.
Meanwhile, Google claimed that the Pixel Buds 2a can offer up to 7 hours of listening time with ANC on or 20 hours of total listening time with the charging case. With ANC off, the listening time can be extended up to 10 hours or 27 hours, respectively.
The company also said that a 5-minute charge in the case allows for up to 1 hour of listening time with ANC on. On a related note, the Pixel Buds 2a’s charging case has a replaceable battery, which is a positive move towards reducing e-waste, although we do wish that Google would do the same for the earbuds themselves as well.
