Powerbee has just turned on its largest EV charging hub located at Design Village Outlet Mall Penang. The Charge Point Operator has deployed a total of 14 EV charging bays at its “EV Charging Hive” which consists of both AC and DC charge points.
As part of its introductory and Merdeka promo, they are offering up to 50% discount for EV charging for a limited time.
Located at the Ground Floor of the Multistorey Carpark of Design Village Outlet Mall, they have deployed a total of 12x 22kW Autel AC charge points and a 120kW Autel DC charger with two CCS2 nozzles. This mall is located on the mainland at Bandar Cassia in Batu Kawan, near the second Penang Bridge.
This is an ideal destination charging location as EV owners can juice up their vehicles while shopping and dining at the mall. By the time they are done, the EV is ready to go.
The AC charge points are priced at RM1.00 per kWh while the DC charge points are priced at RM1.50 per kWh. These charging bays are also equipped with parking barriers and Powerbee also imposes an idle fee of RM1.00 per 5 minute, after the idling grace period of 30 minutes.
To activate the EV chargers, you’ll need to use the Powerbee app which is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and bind a payment card to your account.
As announced by Design Village Penang, EV owners can enjoy 50% off for EV Charging on 31st August and 16 September 2025. That means you can enjoy AC charging for 50 sen per kWh and DC charging for 75 sen per kWh.
Meanwhile from 1st to 15th September, you can enjoy 15% off for EV charging.
