If you’re currently subscribed to HBO Max (formerly known as Max) and Viu, you could potential save some money with an upcoming bundle deal. Both streaming platforms have revealed an upcoming streaming bundle where you can enjoy HBO Max and Viu in a single subscription plan.

It was reported that the HBO Max and Viu subscription bundle is set to launch in Q4 2025 across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. It is said to be the first bundling of its kind in Asia Pacific as it offers premium Hollywood content along with popular Korean, Chinese and local Asian content in a single package.

The bundle offer will be available for subscription directly from either HBO Max and Viu’s website. However, you would still need to download and use the respective apps to enjoy the streaming content for both platforms. So far they have yet to reveal the bundle subscription price for the region.

The partnership between the two video streaming platforms owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and PCCW is seen as a move to strengthen its position in the ASEAN market.

HBO Max was launched in Malaysia in November 2024 with a starting price of RM34.90 per month for the Standard plan that allows Full HD video streaming on 2 devices concurrently and up to 30 offline downloads. There’s also a higher Ultimate plan option at RM52.90 per month that offers 4K UHD streaming on 4 devices concurrently and 100 offline downloads. HBO Max also offers an annual subscription option for both plans which that lets you save up to 33%.

Meanwhile, Viu Premium is currently priced at RM19.90 per month and there’s a 3-month option that currently costs RM50 per month. The Premium subscription provides Full HD streaming with 5 devices concurrently and unlimited downloads for offline viewing.
