TikTok Shop Malaysia recently held its 2025 Summit event at the Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Selangor, on the 24th of July, 2025. Created for merchants, brands, content creators, and agency partners to gather, network and explore new opportunities, the event also saw TikTok Shop sharing insights into the e-commerce platform’s performance, highlighting how features like TikTok Shop PayLater and Next Day Delivery have contributed to increased sales.

TikTok Shop Malaysia records over 100 million product searches, 140% sales growth

At the Summit, TikTok Shop Malaysia shared that it now records over 100 million general product searches daily by local online shoppers.

The platform also reported significant sales growth driven by key seasonal campaigns throughout 2025. Notably, the 6.6 Sale in June contributed to over 140% year-on-year (YoY) growth, while the Ramadan and Raya sales in March yielded more than a 100% YoY increase. Meanwhile, the Chinese New Year Huat Sale in January delivered a 90% YoY sales boost.

30-Day Free Returns triggered 80% conversion surge

In addition to sales growth contributed by seasonal sales, TikTok Shop also shared how features and services such as the recently launched 30-Day Free Returns programme and Next Day Delivery have sparked interest from customers in Malaysia.

Implemented since June, and officially launched in Malaysia in early July 2025, the 30-Day Free Returns programme for TikTok Shop Mall items is said to have instigated an 80% in conversion rate. The same is reported for the e-commerce platform’s Next Day Delivery feature, which was first introduced in November 2024 for selected regions in the Klang Valley, Johor, and Penang.

First introduced in Malaysia in Q4 2024, TikTok’s PayLater programme is reported to have fueled a 60% increase in Average Order Value (AOV) throughout the first half (H1) 2025.

Commenting on the success of the PayLater programme, TikTok Shop Malaysia’s Director of Strategic Partnerships, Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, said, “It definitely developed the trust and confidence among buyers. For example, before this, buyers might be considering whether it’s worth buying a high-value item. With a longer period of making that decision, it definitely improved trust.”

“You will see that one of the core strategies (shared during the Summit) is to look for new customer segments. And this type of policy will definitely support sellers in their strategies in capturing new buyers”, added Azre.

Adding to that, the company has also announced that customers who make purchases via TikTok PayLater payment plans of up to a 3-month period will enjoy 0% interest. Though it’s to be noted that this benefit will only be available until the end of September 2025.

When asked if there are any plans to reintroduce the 0% PayLater programme beyond September, TikTok Shop representatives said that we can stay tuned for more announcements.
