ParkEasy has quietly implemented a new promotional price at selected Shell Recharge AC chargers in Klang Valley. Under this promo, which will last until 7 August, EV owners will be able to enjoy discounted charging rates of just 80 sen per kWh.
Outside of the promotional price, the charging fee for these locations is usually RM1 per kWh. However, there is one major catch: the discounted fee only applies from 8AM to 10AM daily according to the pop-up poster inside the ParkEasy app.
The discounted rate will only be shown in the app during the 2-hour window. Here are the number of AC chargers available at each spots as well as their charging speed:
- Atria Shopping Gallery PJ (Level B, Pillar B12): 3 x 7kW
- Jaya Shopping Centre PJ (B1) : 3 x 11kW
- Megah Rise Mall PJ (B1, Pillar J13): 3 x 11kW
- Sunway Pyramid (CP2 Preferred Parking): 5 x 3.7kW
- Sunway Medical Centre (Tower A, Level G): 2 x 11kW
- IOI Sierra Fresco (Village Grocer / Coffee Bean): 4 x 11kW
- The LINC KL (Carpark office): 2 x 11kW
For those who are not familiar with Shell Recharge/ParkEasy charging bays, they are equipped with automated parking barriers, with the exception of certain locations such as Pavilion KL. Hence, you have to reserve and “unlock” the bay before you can utilise the charger.
Unfortunately, you are not able to choose your own charging bay by yourself as the ParkEasy app will randomly assign the bay to you. The majority of Shell Recharge chargers also have a confirmation fee of RM5 but don’t worry, as this fee would be waived if you unlock your charging bay within 10 minutes after you reserved it.
