[ UPDATE 28/04/2025 14:00 ] GXBank has clarified that its 1% instant cashback for overseas in-store spending will still remain.

===

GXBank has revealed its revised GX Card and cashback benefits which will take effect from 7th May 2025. This comes as its ongoing GX Card Rewards which offers 1% cashback for overseas transactions and 0.1% cashback for local transactions are set to an end on 6th May 2025.

As announced through its notification to GXBank users, the digital bank will continue to offer Zero markups on exchange rates and Zero fees on overseas transactions. This means, you’ll pay exactly what you see while travelling overseas, with no extra hidden charges after currency conversion. In addition, GXBank continues to offer unlimited 1% instant cashback when you pay in-store with your GX Card overseas.

If you need to withdraw cash overseas, GXBank continues to offer zero fees for ATM withdrawals and they still offer 3x GrabRewards on Grab services overseas. If you shop at JayaGrocer, you can still earn 1.5x GrabRewards points for your grocery.

GXBank offers cashback for local spending via DuitNow QR

From the looks of it, there’s no further extension of the 0.1% cashback promo for local GX Card spending. However, GXBank is now shifting the 0.1% instant cashback “wherever you spend campaign” to DuitNow QR transactions. The digital bank is also running a promo where users can get 0.2% cashback with DuitNow, but there’s a cap of RM5 per customer per month, and up to RM15 per customer throughout the campaign period that runs from 6th May to 5th August 2025.

Meanwhile, GXBank is still offering RM1 MEPS ATM Fee waiver for cash withdrawals but it is limited to one withdrawal per month per customer.

GXBank Debit Card issuance waiver if you maintain RM1,000 for 30 days

According to the latest Product Disclosure Sheet (PDS) effective 17th April 2025, GXBank no longer offers free card issuance for the GX Debit Card. It will cost you RM12.00 for new card or replacement card applications, but users can still get a waiver if they maintain an average balance of RM1,000 or more for 30 consecutive days from the date of issuance.

Although international travellers canstill continue to enjoy zero markups and zero fees for overseas transaction, the PDS has listed a 1.2% admin fee for foreign currency transacted overseas with GX Card. This fee would likely be imposed once the current extended GXBank Card promotion ends.
