JPJ revamps JPJeBid app for vehicle number plate bidding, available as pilot test

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) announced that it will be introducing a new way to bid for vehicle number registration online through its new JPJeBid mobile application. The app will be introduced as a pilot starting from 18th February 2025 and it is aimed at improving efficiency while addressing accessibility issues of its JPJeBid platform.

The JPJeBid app will be available from the Google Play Store, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery. Users can login using their existing JPJeBid account as registered on the online portal. During the pilot testing phase, users are still able to submit their vehicle registration number bids via the same online portal.

According to JPJ, the new app aims to deliver a seamless and user friendly experience with an improved interface. Other new features include personalisations and weekly notifications of upcoming vehicle registration number series.

To ensure an efficient and effective service, JPJ will conduct an online survey through the app. Notifications for the survey will sent to the user’s inbox via JPJeBid in phases starting 18th February 2025. It added that user feedback throughout the pilot testing phase is important in order for them to improve the app.

Take note that the JPJeBid app only accepts credit and debit card payments (Visa, Mastercard and AMEX) for online bidding. Only one card is allowed per transaction, and if you plan on making multiple bids, you will need to use a different card.

From what we can tell, the “new” JPJeBid app is basically a revamp from version 1.0 to version 2.0. The initial JPJeBid app (version 1.0) was released in April 2019 and had received several minor updates until May 2021. The latest JPJeBid version was updated on 14th February 2025 for Android and 17th February 2025 for iOS.

In total, JPJ currently has four apps, namely MyJPJ, JPJeQ, JPJeBid and JPJeHadir.
