If you’re looking for the next OnePlus flagship smartphone, the global launch is just around the corner. OnePlus Malaysia has posted a teaser video for the OnePlus 13 Winter Launch Event which is set to take place on 7th January.
The OnePlus 13 made its debut in China last month and it features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite and a large 6,000mAh battery.
OnePlus 13 Global Launch Event
According to the teaser, the launch event is happening at 10:30AM Eastern Time (ET) on 7th January 2025, which is at 11:30pm Malaysian time.
In other markets such as India and the UK, OnePlus has started teasing launch offers and pre-booking for the OnePlus 13. However, for other regions including Malaysia, there are no teaser or pre-launch promo available yet on their website. It isn’t clear at this point if OnePlus Malaysia would start offering OnePlus 13 pre-orders shortly after the launch event.
So far there’s no pricing yet for the OnePlus 13 but we reckon that it should hover around the RM5,000 mark. As a reference, the OnePlus 12 with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage was launched with a price tag of RM4,599.
Besides the OnePlus 13, the brand is also set to unveil its more affordable OnePlus 13R. The OnePlus 13R is expected to run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and comes with a large 6,000mAh battery.
OnePlus 13 Specs and Features
To recap, the OnePlus 13 features a 6.82″ 120Hz Quad HD+ LTPO OLED screen that uses a flat display. Under the hood, it runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite that’s paired with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. For photography, it gets a triple 50MP camera setup that’s co-engineered with Hasselblad.
The device gets a 50MP f/1.6 main camera with 1/1.4″ Sony LYT-808 sensor, 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 50MP f/2.6 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, it gets a 32MP front camera.
As you would expect from a OnePlus device, the OnePlus 13 still features an alert slider and the new device also comes with IP68/IP69 rated dust and water resistance. It also comes with dual stereo speakers and a four-mic setup with AI noise cancellation.
Powering the device is a 6,000mAh battery and it supports 100W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging. According to OnePlus, it takes 13 minutes to charge from 0-50% and 36 minutes to charge it up to 100%.
Out of the box, the OnePlus 13 runs on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 for China units. However, for global markets, the OnePlus 13 will run on OxygenOS 15 instead.
