The Honor 200 series has just welcomed a brand new member, the Honor 200 Smart. Despite sharing a similar name with the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro, the Honor 200 Smart is an entirely different product than its premium mid-range siblings, sporting a more budget-friendly price tag of RM1,099.
Honor 200 Smart Malaysia pricing and availability
As mentioned above, the Honor 200 Smart can be had for RM1,099 here in Malaysia. It can be purchased from Honor Experience Stores nationwide, the Honor official website, the official Honor stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop, as well as the brand’s authorised dealers such as Senheng, SenQ, Harvey Norman, and Urban Republic.
You can even get the Honor 200 Smart for free if you acquire the phone via telcos such as CelcomDigi, U Mobile, and Yes 5G with selected plans. If you get it through Hotlink’s selected plans, it costs just RM89.
Honor 200 Smart specs and features
Two colourways are available with the Honor 200 Smart, namely White and Green. Honor says it has implemented an innovative cushioning architecture that works in tandem with tempered glass screen protection to enhance the Honor 200 Smart’s overall impact resistance.
This results in the Honor 200 Smart’s 5-star Drop Resistance rating, and SGS Premium Performance Certification for Drop & Crush Resistance. The smartphone is also rated at IP64 for splash and dust resistance.
At the front of the Honor 200 Smart is a 6.8-inch 120Hz Full HD+ TFT LCD display, producing 2412 x 1080 pixels and a peak brightness of 850 nits. It has also received the TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification, translating to eye strain reduction during extended use.
Powering the Honor 200 Smart is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 system-on-a-chip (SoC). This is paired with 4GB of RAM, which is expandable to a total of 16GB thanks to the 8GB Honor RAM Turbo, along with 256GB of storage.
In the imaging department, the Honor 200 Smart is equipped with a 50MP f/1.8 main camera along with a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. This rear setup is capable of recording videos at up to 1080p at 30fps. Handling selfies is a 5MP f/2.2 camera up front. This shooter is also able to film up to 1080p videos at 30fps.
Despite it being a budget-oriented smartphone, Honor has fitted the 200 Smart with a dual stereo speaker setup which the company says packs 300% of extra volume, which turns it into a portable speaker. Also, if you prefer wired audio over wireless, you will be glad to know that the Honor 200 Smart still comes with a trusty 3.5m headphone jack.
The Honor 200 Smart packs a 5,200mAh battery, which allows it to provide up to 19 hours of online streaming or 55 hours of music playback. Honor has also included it with its Ultra Power-Saving mode. With this mode switched on, Honor says users can still enjoy up to 60 minutes of continuous calls even with just 2% of juice left.
And when the Honor 200 Smart does run out of battery, it can be charged with the 35W Honor SuperCharge technology via USB-C. On the software side of things, it runs on Honor’s MagicOS 8.0, based on Android 14.
