TNBX is going to activate the new TNB Electron DC charger at Petron Kg Gemuroh in Terengganu tomorrow, 28 September. To mark the occasion, the TNB subsidiary will also provide free charging to EV owners who visit the new location this weekend.
This is TNB Electron’s second DC charger in Terengganu
The new charger in Petron Kg Gemuruh marked TNB Electron’s second deployment in Terengganu after the CPO’s first location at R&R Paka Southbound in early 2023. It is quite a strategic location given its proximity to the East Coast Expressway’s (LPT) Kuala Terengganu Toll Plaza especially for those who are coming from or going to Kota Bharu.
While TNBX did not provide any details regarding the output of the DC charger in Petron Kg Gemuruh, we believe that the charger is a 47kW Autel DC charger based on the photo that the company published on TNB’s social media channels. TNB has previously installed the same charger at Aeon Mall Kota Bharu, Seri Manjung, Seri Kinta City, and Taiping as well as Aeon Big Wangsa Maju.
The 47kW Autel DC charger can support two EVs simultaneously although the power output will be split dynamically if the site is fully occupied. The announcement did not reveal the charging fee too but it should be the same as per other TNB Electron’s 47kW sites which have been set at RM1.35 per kWh.
Just like any other TNB Electron charger, you can utilise the Go To-U Android or iOS app to activate the new charger at Petron Kg Gemuruh. However, the charger has not yet appeared on the app as it will only go live tomorrow.
