The new PlayStation 5 Pro will be released in Malaysia this coming November. This was confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) through the PlayStation Blog and the official Facebook page of PlayStation Asia.
PS5 Pro to launch in Malaysia at the same time as Japan and U.S
Specifically, the PS5 Pro will be making its way to Malaysia on 7 November. This means the console will be available in our market at the same time as four initial markets previously announced by SIE including the U.S., UK, Europe, and Japan.
The same also applies to the pre-order date. In the same blog post, SIE said that customers in Malaysia can pre-order their PS5 Pro at these official PlayStation retailers nationwide starting from 26 September onwards.
PS5 Pro Malaysia pricing is much higher than Singapore, U.S, Japan
Alongside the release date, SIE has also revealed the price tag of PS5 Pro in Malaysia which is RM3,849. Compared to the pricing in Singapore which was also revealed in the same blog post, Malaysian customers have to pay almost RM400 extra as the console is priced at SGD1,069 (~RM3,456) over there.
Over in the U.S., PS5 Pro is priced at USD699.99 (~RM2,917) while it costs JPY119,980 (~RM3,475) in Japan. In general, the PS5 Pro pricing in Malaysia is almost as high as the U.K. and Europe which are GBP699.99 (RM3,895) and EU799.99 (~RM3,707), respectively.
Meanwhile, do take note that the PS5 Pro does not come with a disc drive which is a bummer for those who want to use PS5 and PS4 game discs or Blu-ray discs and DVDs with the console. However, it uses the same disc drive as PS5 Pro which is currently available in Malaysia for RM529.
