Apart from the Huawei Ascend P7, the Chinese device maker has teased that its MediaPad X1 will be coming to Malaysia as well. It is launching on the same day next month on the 10th June.

The MediaPad X1 is a compact Android tablet which is also seen as a challenger to the Nexus 7. The 7-incher tablet pushes a Full HD resolution display and runs on a capable Quad-Core 1.6GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. In the hands, it feels much smaller than most mini tablets with a thickness of just 7.2mm and it weighs just 239 grams. As comparison the iPad mini (with Retina Display) is thicker at 7.5mm while the Nexus 7 is still heavier at 290 grams.

It gets a 13MP Sony main camera, a front facing 5MP shooter, support for 4G LTE and a generous 5,000mAh battery. During our hands-on with the MediaPad X1 at MWC 2014, we find the device to be well built with a premium aluminium body and we liked its compact size. If that’s not enough, you can even use this as a phone as it comes with telephony and SMS capabilities.

Check out our hands-on video after the break.
