After a long wait — the ZenFone series was supposed to go on sale in Malaysia early May, close to a month after its South East Asian debut — the ASUS ZenFone 4 is now available in local stores.
Retailing for RM299, the 4-inch WVGA (800×480, 233ppi) Gorilla Glass 3 display, the ZenFone 4 is powered 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processsor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on board storage that’s expandable using micro SD cards up to 64GB. For taking pictures it has a 5MP camera which is capable of shooting Full HD videos — surprising for a device at this price point — while at the front, there’s a standard VGA camera.
The ZenFone 4 has a small battery by today’s standard — just 1,200mAh — but Intel processors are generally more power-efficient than its competitors so you can expect the device to last the day in most cases. Also, unlike the ZenFone 5 and 6, the battery on the ZenFone 4 is removable.
