Here’s every Xiaomi device that will be getting HyperOS first in 2024

Xiaomi may have already announced that the very first device from them to come with HyperOS will be the Xiaomi 14 lineup, but that doesn’t mean you’ll have to get the new upcoming smartphone to experience HyperOS. In fact, it seems that as long as you have a relatively recent flagship device from them, you’ll be one of the first to get HyperOS when it rolls out to global users.

According to GSMChina, for users everywhere in the world except for China, they will be getting HyperOS 1.0 on their device only from Q1 2024 onwards. In total, nine Xiaomi devices will be able to upgrade to their new operating system, with eight of them smartphones and one being a tablet.

Here’s the full list of Xiaomi devices to get HyperOS next year:

  • Xiaomi 13
  • Xiaomi 13 Pro
  • Xiaomi 13 Ultra
  • Xiaomi 13T
  • Xiaomi 13T Pro
  • Xiaomi 12T
  • Xiaomi 12T Pro
  • Xiaomi 11T
  • Xiaomi Pad 6

Curiously, Xiaomi is apparently not updating the Xiaomi 12 series from last year to HyperOS 1.0 during the initial release window, but will be doing so for the older Xiaomi 11T. Nevertheless, you can expect other Xiaomi smartphones—and even Redmi and Poco models for that matter—to get HyperOS too, just perhaps in subsequent release windows later in 2024.

HyperOS of course is being teased by Xiaomi to be based on a completely new, rewritten architecture under the hood, as it’s essentially a combination of their previous MIUI operating system and their own Xiaomi Vela OS that they built for their AIoT platforms a couple of years ago. Xiaomi had been working on HyperOS for some time now, with the goal of a new operating system to unify all of their devices across various product segments into a single unified ecosystem. In particular, there are four major objectives HyperOS was built for: low-level refactoring, cross-end intelligent connectivity, proactive intelligence and end-to-end security.

HyperOS is making its debut in the Xiaomi 14 series, and while their new flagship smartphones have already launched in China, there’s no word just yet on when Xiaomi will be launching it though chances are it will be early next year too.
