Microsoft is slowly but surely expanding its gaming offering in Malaysia. Last year, we finally saw the PC Game Pass being offered for Malaysian gamers, and today, Microsoft announced that the official Xbox wireless is available on Malaysian store shelves.

The controller was first announced with the launch of the Xbox Series X and Series S way back in 2020, so Malaysians (and the Philippines) are officially a bit late to the party.

Design-wise, the controller is a refinement of previous generation controllers that Microsoft has produced. There is a dedicated share button in the middle of the controller to share pivotal moments of your game time with the world, via screenshots, video and more.

The surface of the controller is sculpted so that it is more comfortable in the hand, while the D-pad is a hybrid design, inspired by the changeable D-pads from the Xbox Elite controller. It features a slightly deeper concave for a more comfortable thumb placement.

Powered by two AA batteries, Microsoft claims that the pair can last for 40 hours before needing to change. The controller will come in five different colours – Black, White, Blue, Red and Volt.

The Xbox Wireless controller is the same controller that Microsoft bundles with both the Xbox Series X and Series S. It connects via Bluetooth, and is compatible with the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, Android and iOS. Obviously, the controller can also be used with games in the PC Game Pass.

It is retailing for RM 319 and will be available from retailers such as Harvey Norman, All IT, Thundermatch, Gamers Hideout and Brightstar, among others.

Now that the Wireless Controller is here; Microsoft, when is the Xbox Series X and Series S coming to Malaysia?
