The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is now official along with the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and the Galaxy Buds FE, with the FE seemingly now denoting a budget friendly variant of their usual flagship devices. The Galaxy S23 FE will be coming to Malaysia very soon, and has a notably cheaper retail price tag than the regular Galaxy S23 too.
Officially, Samsung will be making the Galaxy S23 FE available from 10 October onwards here via the Samsung Malaysia website. Here is how much the Galaxy S23 FE will cost in Malaysia:
- Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage – RM2,999
- Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM3,299
At this price point, the Galaxy S23 FE will seem to be pretty decent value, especially when compared to the regular Galaxy S23 that had a launch price of RM3,899. However, one thing that could push you towards the mainstream flagship option rather than the ‘Fan Edition’ smartphone is that the Galaxy S23 is often found on sale, sometimes for even less than what the Galaxy S23 FE is going for.
But with a starting price of less than RM3,000, the Galaxy S23 FE does seem to tick the right boxes by offering what is mostly a flagship experience still. You’re getting a glass back, an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, a decent 6.4-inch display and crucially an upgraded 50MP main camera that brings it on par with the regular Galaxy S23. Samsung also didn’t wait too long to launch this device, unlike the Galaxy S21 FE that debuted just a month before the Galaxy S22 series launched. That being said, you are getting last year’s Exynos 2200 processor under the hood of the Galaxy S23 FE, which might upset Malaysians who prefer Snapdragon-powered options.
