Yoodo users can now get validity periods of up to 180 days, comes with up to 10% discount

Yoodo might already be well known for its easy customisability based on user needs, but the MVNO is now giving users yet another choice for users to customise. Yoodo users will now be able to choose how long their plan will be valid for; previously their plans were always only valid for a month, but the new option now lets you extend your plan’s validity for up to 180 days.

According to Yoodo, users will now be able to pick between the usual 30-day validity plan, a 90-day plan or a 180-day plan. If you opt for the 90-day plan, Yoodo will throw in a 5% discount for your plan while if you get the longest 180-day plan, you’ll get a 10% discount.

However, it’s worth noting that the validity extension is only applicable if you get a plan that’s worth RM30 per month or higher. This means that if you get a RM30 plan per month, you will end up paying RM85.50 for your three month validity or RM162 for your six month validity. It’s also worth noting that the validity extension isn’t available for those who want an unlimited data plan, only for high-speed data plans, and you’ll need to get extra data if you run out of it based on your quota.

On top of that, you also won’t be able to change your plan during the validity period, so if you get the 180-day plan for instance you’ll want to ensure your selected options fit your usage appropriately. If you do want to switch up your Yoodo plan, you won’t be refunded regardless of how much you have left on your plan.

Incidentally, it’s perhaps worth mentioning that this Yoodo extension plan isn’t really giving you a 180-day plan, but rather it’s more akin to buying their monthly plans at bulk, with your plan renewing every 30 days. In contrast, something like the Hotlink Pantas plan does offer a true long-term validity plan with its 365-day options. Nevertheless, the new Yoodo validity options does make it a solid option for users who already know what they want from the telco, and want to get a nice discount on top of it too.
