Hari Raya is finally here and is also that time of the year for family unions and to catch up with friends. Of course, it’s also the time to distribute Duit Raya, and there are several fun ways to give out Duit Raya packets digitally including TNG eWallet.

If you are given a Money Packet QR code to redeem your Duit Raya or if you’ve just created a Duit Raya Money Packet QR to give out to your friends or relatives, you should really not post it publicly on social media. Here’s why.

Lately, there have been reports that their newly created Money Packets have been redeemed very quickly by unknown persons. Some of these money packets were only meant to be distributed to a small circle of family and friends but they could see unknown names appearing in the Money Packet redemption table. If this is happening to you, it is likely that your QR code has been shared outside of the circle and posted on social media such as Facebook or Twitter.

If you do a quick search for “money packet” on Facebook, you can find easily find TNG eWallet QR codes offering Duit Raya. Well, some of them could be done intentionally to share festive cheer with anyone online including total strangers but some of them could be Duit Raya meant for private distribution.

If you’ve given a Duit Raya QR code or link for redemption, DO NOT SHARE IT online or with other people without the permission of the host. You could be depriving others of redeeming the Duit Raya as the money pool was meant to be for a small group of people. Similarly, if you’re creating a Duit Raya QR code just for your family members, perhaps it is best to keep it offline or by showing the QR code physically when your family members are visiting you.

In case you missed it, TNG eWallet’s Money Packet feature has been updated to allow hosts to distribute Duit Raya in equal amounts as well as random amounts. Each Money Packet is valid for only 24 hours and you can cancel it at any time. Any unused amount will be returned to your eWallet after expiry. You can create a money packet of up to RM1,000 and up to a maximum limit of 100 unique users.
